Super Bowl Charity Knitting Challenge!

We had a winning response to the Super Bowl Knitting Challenge!  Well over one hundred beautiful items were brought in and then donated to the Alexandrina Pregnancy Center, the public schools, cancer centers, and Project Linus.  Thank you so much for your time and generous efforts to give back to the community.  You are all champions!

Knitting for the Community

Knitters have warm hearts, ready hands, and giving spirits.  Knitting squares for the homeless in our community was a big success.  Thanks to all the knitters that participated!  We hope to get involved with this project again in fall, 2010.   Also, Monterey Yarn's bighearted knitters continue to support local chemotherapy centers by providing hats for patients undergoing treatment.   Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Our newest community project is "Booties for Babies" for the A&A Alexandrina Center in Green Bay.  The A&A Alexandrina Center is a pro-life organization that provides free pregnancy testing and some counseling support for women and families.  We are donating knitted items, especially booties and socks, to be shared with prospecitive parents to welcome new life into the world.  The A&A Alexandrina Center is located at 301 N. Webster Avenue in Green Bay.  We encourage and appreciate our knitters' participation in this worthy cause.
